Hair loss continues to affect millions of people in the world, so there are currently new treatments created to counteract alopecia in a short time and stimulate hair growth.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) due to its great regenerative properties, has been incorporated as a treatment in different specialties from trauma to aesthetic medicine and hair medicine.
Platelet-rich plasma for capillary biostimulation is a very novel technique that allows the growth factors existing in the patient’s blood to be isolated and worked on, accelerating growth and slowing hair loss.
Platelets contain abundant growth factors and stem cells (obtained from the patient’s own blood), substances that help regenerate hair follicles in the infiltrated area, transferring more nutrients and increasing cell proliferation.
The application of this treatment on the hair promotes the formation of new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, and also promotes vascularization in the hair follicle, increasing, accelerating and stimulating tissue regeneration.
Red blood cells
The blood sample, after separation of the platelets in the test tube centrifuge, usually includes:
54% plasma. | 1% white blood cells. | 45% red blood cells.
Research carried out on capillary PRP shows very positive results in the management of alopecia (baldness). After monthly therapies with platelet-rich fibrin matrix, a statistically significant increase in the capillary density index has been observed in patients, information obtained from comparative measurements made before initiating therapy and after 2 and 6 months after initiation.
Thus, this form of treatment becomes one more tool to consider in our attempt to provide a solution to this condition that increasingly affects men and women around the world.
This novel treatment is indicated for any type of alopecia, as well as in those patients who have moderate hair loss, have weak and brittle hair.
It consists of extracting the growth factors that are in the patient’s blood, for their subsequent infiltration into the scalp.
A small extraction of blood is carried out from the patient (the extraction is not carried out from the head), this blood sample is centrifuged, preparing to obtain the plasma fraction and in it, the platelets and the growth factors.
Then, by means of microinjections, it is applied in a practically painless way in the priority areas of the scalp so that it reaches the roots of the hair. The punctures are carried out with a separation of 2 to 5 mm until the entire affected area is covered, during this process the platelets release a series of growth factors that act on the cells and tissues with which they come in contact, stimulating hair regeneration.
Microinjections are carried out with a very small gauge syringe and needle, which is why they are practically painless.
Once the treatment is finished, the patient can return to normal activity immediately.
In addition, at Skin & Hair, we implement it alternately with other treatments such as hair restoration and hair implants, depending on your case and needs.
In hair graft interventions, it favours the healing process of the donor area and stimulates the regeneration and vascularization of the tissues at the level of the recipient area.
Finally, remember that once the treatment is finished we advise you not to exercise, not to go to swimming pools or saunas and not to wash your head during the first days.
Improve the appearance and volume of your hair.
The results obtained through our hair graft are long-lasting and natural in appearance.
